General Accountability

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Technician is responsible for the complete install, maintenance and servicing of gas/propane heating units and their components, all while providing excellent customer service. The incumbent is concerned with promoting and maintaining health and safety as per the CO-OP’s policies and procedures.

Job Duties

Transport, install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components.
Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.
Advise clients on standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems.
Test and replace defective equipment or components.
Resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and helpful manner.
Always ensure the safe use of company service vehicles.
Completes required paperwork and documentation within required deadlines.
Sets and follows high standard of personal conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Gas Technician II or superior Certificate (G2) required
OBT2 or superior Certification required
Valid Ontario Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract
Minimum one (1) year experience working in the petroleum and propane industry preferred
Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization management techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work with little supervision
Strong mechanical aptitude, an asset
Bilingualism an asset
