General Accountability

Reporting to the Gas Bar Manager, the Gas Bar attendant is responsible for the safe handling and efficient retail sales and service of gasoline, oils and sundry products handled at the Gas Bar. The incumbent is concerned with maintaining a positive image for the Co-opérative and the location, and enhances its general appearance by ensuring that the product displays are well stocked and that the work area is kept clean at all times .

Job Duties

Dispense, through retail sales, such products as gasoline, diesel, oils and other sundry products handled at location
Accept cash, debit and credit cards according to predetermined policies, and be responsible for making correct change and to balance all receipts each day
Keep kiosk and pump areas in a neat and tidy condition
Monitor inventory levels and ensures receipts are accurate in quantity and quality
Take pump reading at the conclusion of the shift and balances pump readings with tank dips of all petroleum products, record information properly and report any discrepancies to the Gas Bar Manager
Check tank for water
Administer and observe safety rules and procedures and controls safety in and around the gasoline island and tanks
Handles mechanical preparations for the opening and closing of business for the day as required
Maintain work and surrounding areas in a clean and presentable condition at all times by snow removal, sweeping paved area, etc…
Handle propane sales, cylinder fill-up, and automotive oil sales
Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications & Experience

Excellent attention to detail
Effective team player
Computer knowledge or experience is preferred
Bilingual - fluent in both English and French (read, speak, write) is an asset.
